CSCS Card Types

CSCS card is becoming mandatory for an individual to potentially access and work within the construction site.  It acts as proof that the cardholder has been officially trained in the health and safety of their respective trade. It also ensures that the tradesperson also holds an industry-recognized qualification.

There are different types of CSCS cards available as per trade so it is important that you should hold CSCS cards as per your trade and skill level so that you will be able to get work on a safe, professionally run building construction site. It is important to carry the right card as per work as spot checks are often carried out by authorities on sites using handheld scanners to confirm the legitimacy of the card. An invalid or expired card or a card that does not cover the job that you are carrying on-site could result in you immediately asking to leave the site.

Various kind of CSCS Cards are

RED PROVISIONAL CARD – Temporary card (Nonrenewable, Issued only if you don’t hold any card in past)

GREEN CSCS Card – Basic Skills for general labourer

BLUE CSCS Card –Skilled Worker

GOLD CSCS Card – Skilled Worker and Supervisors

BLACK CSCS Card- Manager

YELLOW/WHITE CSCS Card– Professionally Qualified Person (PQP)

Applying for CSCS cards or Construction Skills Certification Scheme Cards

Eligibility for card:

Individuals must first of all pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test with a score of at least 45/50 correct answers. For CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test for Managers you need to score at least 46/50.

Prospective candidates should check the requirements of the CSCS cards that they are applying for as certain CSCS courses and NVQs are required.

If you wish to get a  CSCS card for yourself, you can apply it online or by sending your request "Need CSCS Card" to  constructioncards@gmail.com Before you apply for the card there are certain things which should be handy with you. Please make sure that you: Should have a  scanned copy of the certificate of your qualification , or the written proof of enrollment that you are already registered to complete a recognized qualification related to construction which is also relevant to your work/service or occupation. What is CITB test?
